A major poet of the end of the 20th century, Thierry Metz (1956 – 1997) worked as a manual laborer and seasonal hand in the southwestern France. He transformed each stage in his life into poetic material. This film aims to bring to light the tragic intensity of his brief existence together with the radicalness of his artistic commitment.

Biographies
Marie-Violaine Brincard begins her professional carrier as a literature and cinema teacher and little by little she’s part of cinematographic workshop et begins to make conferences around cinema, particularly in the Etats Généraux du documentaire, in Lussas (France) and at the festival DocLisboa. She made her first film in 1998, Balade au Pakistan, no comment. She is the co-director, with Olivier Dury, of her third film, A Man Leaning.
Marie-Violaine Brincard’s Filmography:
Olivier Dury studies cinema at the Vancouver Film School and begins to work as director assistant for different films (documentary, fiction, ads clip). He then become director of photography assistant, and finally director of photography on documentary production. His second film, Mirages, in 2008, wins many prizes of whom the first prize at the FIDMarseille festival. His last film, A Man Leaning, is co-directed with Marie-Violaine Brincard.
